Lewis was a hotel electrician at the time of the 1920 US Census and a warehouse electrician at the time of the 1930 US Census.

Van Wicklen, Jr., b. 24 Jan 1912, NY and d. 18 Sept 1982, Ridge, Suffolk, NY. He worked for a moving company at the time of the 1930 US Census. He was a CPL in US Army in WWI. He married Katherine ______ (b. 15 June 1913 and d. 17 Jan 2001). Both he and Katherine are buried in Calverton National Cemetery. they had a daughter, Janet C. Van Wicklen, b. 20 Feb 1936 and d. 17 Apr 1995 bur. at section r Site 323 Calverton National Cem. in Calverton, NY. She is adult dependent daughter of CPL Lewis R. Van Wicklen, US Army

Also listed in this household are Jacob Van Wicklin, 26, male, black and Sarah Van Wicklin, 16, female, black. Could the latter two individuals be black servants or slaves of Garret Van Wicklin?
